Privacy

Your blade data stays with you. All your sharpening history, performance notes, and blade records are stored privately on your devices and in your personal iCloud account. We never access, collect, or sell your data—period.

Your Data, Your iCloud

When you enable iCloud sync, your BladeTracker data syncs between your devices using your personal iCloud account—not our servers. We never see or store your information. Apple encrypts your iCloud data both in transit and at rest.

What’s stored in your iCloud:

• Blade profiles and sharpening history
• Performance notes and observations
• Skate configurations and preferences
• Reminder settings

What we never see or access:

• Your blade records or sharpening logs
• Performance notes or ice feedback
• Any personal information
• Anything in your iCloud account

Optional Usage Data

To help us catch bugs and improve BladeTracker, you can choose to share anonymous usage data. This is completely optional and controlled by you in Settings.

What we collect (only if you opt in):

• Crash reports with technical diagnostics (no personal data)
• Anonymous feature usage patterns (which screens you visit, not what you enter)
• Device model and iOS/macOS version for compatibility

What we never collect:

• Your blade names, sharpening records, or performance notes
• Personal information (name, email, location, photos)
• Anything that identifies you as an individual
• Free-text content from your notes or observations

You’re in control: Toggle “Share anonymous usage analytics” in Settings to enable or disable this anytime. When off, no data leaves your device.

We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google) for optional data collection, both of which meet Apple’s privacy standards. Learn more: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
